About Silas Fen
The same quiet atmosphere as home, held a little closer to the life behind the poems.
Writing Toward Light
Poetry rooted in memory, faith, and everyday resilience.
"These poems are written for readers who need language for the in-between seasons of life."
Silas Fen is the voice behind — The Rustic Poet, a body of work shaped by reflection, lived experience, and a commitment to honest expression. He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with his dog, Pipes, where the landscape and slower pace continue to influence his writing.
He began writing poetry in middle school, long before it had direction. Over time, it became a steady practice—a way to process what stays with him and put it into words that hold.
His work draws from real moments: love, loss, growth, and the details most people overlook but never forget. He is the author of Echoes From the Heart, with additional books in development, all rooted in the same commitment to clarity and restraint.
Silas Fen writes with intention. He avoids excess and lets each piece stand on its own, focusing on what is true rather than what is impressive. Through Silas Fen — The Rustic Poet, he pairs poetry with visual work to create an experience that lingers.
At its core, his writing is about awareness, resilience, and connection. It does not reach beyond itself. It remains direct—and real.

What People Are Saying
A few words from readers and companions on the path.
Scott's book is written from the heart. As you read each word, it pulls you in and touches your heart and soul. Beautiful words and pictures to captivate everyone. A must-read!!
After contemplating how to describe these poems written by Silas Fen, the only thing that I can say is that they are indescribable! They spoke to my soul and heart! I literally could feel each emotion and the way the poet was speaking! I can't imagine not having these in my library! They truly are fantabulous!
The poems of Scott J. Lucius are very good in quality, information, and tone. His poetry held my interest throughout and presented its message in a clear fashion. Youth through seniors would enjoy and benefit from reading this collection. Looking forward to his next book.
An extraordinary debut collection that proves a first-time publication can be both deeply moving and meticulously crafted. Lucius takes the reader on a thoughtful journey through the universal "highs and lows and ups and downs" of life focusing on the enduring themes of love, nature, heartbreak, detachment, hope and healing. What elevates this book is the presentation. Each poem is accompanied by an extraordinary graphic adding a visual layer that beautifully complements the text. The book is more than a poetry collection; it is beautifully packaged experience. Scott Lucius has established himself as a voice to watch.
There is a quiet charm in the way the collection bridges the gap between visual art and poetic expression. The paintings, with their fantastical and spiritual tones, offer a counterpoint to the repetitive verses. One cannot help but be drawn to the art, as it frequently provides a more immediate emotional connection. This interplay between image and text creates a layered experience, leaving the poetic narrative feeling somewhat muted. There is room to ponder whether a more varied poetic form might have allowed the inner voice to emerge with greater clarity. The uniformity in structure gives the collection a sense of cohesion, yet it also suggests there might be hidden depths waiting to be explored through less repetitive means. The decision to maintain a singular poetic form throughout the book brings a consistency admirable in its own right, even if it occasionally limits the diversity of expression. In all, “Echoes From The Heart” offers a tender glimpse into the nature of love and loss, brought to life by both its measured verses and its compelling visual accompaniments.
Thought-provoking. Captured the feelings of not only his life, but you will see yourself in some of these poems as I did. I would recommend Scott's book to everyone — you will not be disappointed!
